That's not a disguised hint btw; rather, it is a genuine question. There are so many of us here who have come to love our POE family and wonder what can be done to help but feel at a loss because finances are tight and we don't know what else to do. Perhaps if we all put on our thinking caps we can come up with some viable ideas. Just a thought... i'm thinking too...... Diana emmmm! Would it not be possible to organise something like an on-line aution or bring & buy sale? you know the type of thing, someone donates an item, someone makes a bid for it, the highest bidder donates the money to PoE... just an idea lol |

I don't have a clue on how to do an on-line auction; is it something you'd be willing to research? me also, but I imagine something like we have in the uk, say in the church hall bring and buy sale. you give an unwanted item to the stall and purchase from them another item that someone has donated. the money goes to the church fund. Or in the case of an auction, someone donates an unwanted item, those interested in purchasing it bid (rather like e-bay) the highest bidder gets the item for the sum they bid, and the money would then go to the 'good cause', in this case POE. the only probs I see are postal charges so i imagine the items would need to be small perhaps an antique item or jewelry etc but I've never done this before so it would be better left to someone good at organising things lol i could auction a piece of English grass lol |

I hope you don't mind, Chris, but I'm posting your brilliant poem about running a website here. It's appropriate, it's amusing, it's clever and for all who weren't around last summer, it would be great for them to see it. Runnin a website – Easy en it? (a question often asked!) No, runnin a website don’t even take brains, No, runnin a website, ow ‘ard can it be? No, runnin a website, ow 'ard can it be? The truth! - When u get up in the morning, there is NO escape, Approving endless pictures one after t’other, Comfy in a big chair?! Ha! Haemorrhoids is the word! Don’t need brains for a website to run? No, runnin a website is not ard at all! So if now you feels sorry for me knowin the truth, The End We can all try to come up with fundraising schemes, but there is an immediate need too, so I would encourage people to give whatever they can no matter how small the amount. For all of us who post regularly to the forum, there are probably 5 or 6 members who only submit pictures, but don't post. Even if we each just donated one dollar or one pound, it would be a considerable sum. And anybody in the US who makes an online donation thru Pay Pal, Pay Pal will tap your card for dollars and make the conversion to lbs. for the donation to POE.
