Okay, fess up. We've all had those moments when we let the devil on our shoulder trick us into losing our cool and doing or saying something that we later regretted.

One of the first things that comes to my mind involves a woman who used to come into the tea shop where I worked many years ago.  She was a "regular" who clearly suffered with some psychological disorder and one of her peculiarities was a fear of having her car towed. She used to sit for hours and sketch pictures of tow trucks and tow signs etc.

Well one day she was particularly obnoxious and I was not in the most tolerant of moods so while she was over in the corner mumbling and sketching I stood up and announced to the friends I was sitting with that I was going to have a few cars towed. My friends were on the floor laughing but she was visibly disturbed and hurriedly gathered up her belongs to leave. I felt a twinge of guilt and tried to make it up by telling her that I wasn't talking about her car.Embarassed

After being goaded for many days by one certain poster on another forum, I finally posted "Why don't you just shut up!".

Of course I regretted it as soon as I posted it, but at that time, the forum didn't have and edit or delete button.

Now if I get the urge to post an response in the heat of the moment, I will type it out, read it through and then delete it before hitting the post button.

OOOO come on Krissy you can tell us,,,lol

I myself would have to say the meanest thing i did was years ago when i worked at a Krystal i worked the drive thru and these girls which I knew of that were a bunch of little snobs came thru the window and gave me a hard time and kept on changing there order and wanted to make sure we did not put to much mustard on her hamburgers because she did not want to get it on her new dress!  So of course i made sure there was not much mustard on the hamburgers as she requested but I failed to put the top on the soda cup so when i leaned over to hand it to her she squeezed it and the top popped off and coke went all in her car and on her pretty little new dress,,,;-00000  well it stopped her from coming,,LOL

the devil made me do it,,,lol i did fell bad for a second but every one in the place was laughing and clapping so hard nobody cared they could not stand those girls,,!

Diana - it a wonder you didn't dream about tow-trucks. I think you did the right thing. To me, if they are bothering/disturbing the other customers, something needs to be said.
Sue- alot of times I wished I could slap my words back in me -maybe apologize-if you don't want to, just pray for them - that's what I do. Remember, God helps take care of his own. Meaning, if you don't do anything, God will eventually. People that have hurt me in the past. And I didn't get to say my peace. God got somehow, someway got them back for me. Something would happen to them, and I would secretly just smile.
Debbie- loved yours-very classic(I love your little laughing guy)

The meanest thing I ever did 2 incidents come to mind.
1) my cousin and I were fighting, something,we did on a regular basis, he was just down right mean all the time, he would hit you just to see if it hurt, if it didn't he'd hit you again. Well, he jerked my glasses of my face, which enraged me, I turned and remembered an move that they do in western, where they take the fist, and bring there elbow up like behind them bringing your fist in a backward motion, to get more power behind it. anyway, I belted him to where I thought I would hit him in the gut first and then a wammy in the chin, 2 blows at one time. Well, it didn't happen this way. My cousin jumped up, to dodge me, and i belted him full force in his hmmm mmm you guessed it, his jewels. he dropped, face went pale then red and back to pale. I thought I had killed him nearly. I didn't mean to hurt him that bad. I almost as momma said hospitalized him. I felt like scum. My momma jerked me into the back bedroom and wore my butt out.
2) i'll try to make this one short. on the school bus. I had been teased by this one boy named Andy. He 'bout drove me crazy, just constant picking. I lost it, and turned to him and said, "At least I ain't as ugly as my daddy like you are." It was kind of a stupid thing to say, but all I could think of at the moment. He stopped, looked at me, and started crying. I was in pure shock. Andy never cried. He was one of the tough kids. His dad had been hospitalized, with a heart attack or something, and wasn't expecting to make it, chances looked slim, for his dad. I felt like crap. I didn't mean to make him cry. I again felt like scum. but, Andy and I talked, I apologized several times over. We became best friends from that day forward. Hard to believe we have youngin's now. I sure do miss him. He is still my good friend today. If he needed me I'd try to be there for him. lols.
Darn it I tried to make it short. I'm sorry.
