That is almost the most gross thing I have ever seen do ppl really eat that???(pickled cockle)YUK<<<

OK that would be my first choice not to eat!!! But I would not eat cottage cheese or buttermilk and cornbread

or crawfish or really any fishy foods i do love shrimp and some fish,

Last year a lot of chinese imigrants lost their lives just up the coast from me, they were illegal workers who were taken out into the bay at low tide to gather cockles at night, the tide came in and many lives were lost. Cockles are like small oysters, dont like them myself but many do They are mentioned in the Irish folk song ' - Molly Malone, about an Irish fish seller.

In Dublins fair city, where the girls are so pretty,

I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,

she wheeled her wheel barrow

through the streets broad and narrow,

crying' COCKLES and muscles, alive, alive oh!'

SORRY, no pictures this time lol

When you get to Cornwall Debbie, ask your 'hubby' to buy a small 'pot' of cockles, you eat them from the 'pio' using a cerry stick, they are cooked and sprinkled with malt vinegar. I bet he loves them. see this web site for more info
