I got a pair of Berghaus, i wear them all the time, getting a bit tired now, but i've covered a few miles in them!  kind of like the ones below!

Also for more serious walks, i've got a pair of Zamberlain boots, years old, and covered so many miles on mountains, but very comfy still!!

I wear New Balance, an American company, for my daily walking needs. And I have Berghaus walking sandles for the summer (though foot Doc says I'm not to wear them any more).

I have shoes that I bought before my last trip to England that are great.  I got a pair of suede oxford lace-ups by Clark's and fisherman-type sandals (which offer more coverage than sandals really) although I can't remember the brand name of the sandals right now.  I believe I found them both on the Foot Smart website.  They describe the details and different levels of support, cushioning and walking comfort for each different pair of shoes.  They understand the all-day walking that travelers do.

No! well i live in them!  suppose it depends where your going!  I mean a posh meal in a nice restaraunt (sp?) might get a few looks but for everyday you'll be fine!!  and much more comfortable!!Laughing
