Hey guys just wandering,,, Last time we were in Scotland my husband and I rented a cell phone from my company here.  Do you think it is better to wait until we get there and rent one. Didnt know if maybe you all knew about how much the fee is if you just walk in off the street and rent a phone for 2 weeks or if you can do that??

Hi Debbie:  We rented one from Auto Europe.  It was very convenient.  They ship it to your house before you leave and you return it by DHL when you get back.  The phone is also pre-programmed so you don't have to figure out how to dial.  It wasn't too bad price wise either.  I think it was about $115 for 17 days. Of course, we kept our calling to a minimum, but it's nice to have one, especially if you're going to be driving.

mmmm never thought of that debbie. Almost everyone here has at least one cell-phone (or 'moble', as we call them) Being a 'dinosoir' i resisted having one until about 2 years ago, (I realy hate being with someone when theyre using a mobile, so anti-social, and I hate to see people walking around with one stuck to their ear, and theres the idiot who lets everyone know whay theyre saying, Duh!!). I do recognise they have there uses in an emergency though! England is well covered with 'cells' so reception shouldnt realy be a problem, do be aware of the 'charges' though! Perhaps one of our more 'tuned-in' members could give you better advice on this one lol
