Five things you cant travel without !

     You are packing for your trip, what 5 things could you not leave without???  And the necessary things do not count like tickets,ect

1 My make up!!!!

2 My hair straightners

3 Anti frizz hair serum

4 Mobile phone

5 Sunglasses

If you are heading for the Uk debbie, one may say

brolly, wellies, coat, map and money, but thats totaly unfair as you could say that  about most places. Uk residents seem to think that places such as continental Europe, Greece, Africa and yes, the states are hot and lovely all year round.

Things not to forget when packing for a trip are perhaps -

Travel tickets, Passport/visa, some form of money(card etc), Travel/medical Insurance documents, drivers licence (if needed). All other items can be obtained on route or at your destination.

The most esential thing to take though, is 'take CARE!

My favourite Lime & Ginger Tea.  I forgot it when I got the call to say my dad was dying and was trying to work out where there was a Morrison's supermarket on my 4-hour drive to the hospital

Lots of books.  Holidays have been spoiled by not having something decent to read

Comfy shoes.  You don't want blisters when there are so many places to see.

Several bottles of water, especially if I'm the one doing the driving

A small desk lamp.  So many hotels just have huge lamps which light up the whole room - not much use if you want to read in the middle of the night while your OH is asleep.

A brolly is an unbrella, and wellies are rubber boots.

Well, excluding the obvious necessities, I never leave home with out:

1. hand cream

2. cell phone/charger

3. lipstick/chapstick

4. umbrella

5.  books

  Oh definately.....

Umbrella, lightweight rain  poncho, books or magazines to read, I carry an brief case also, it has an portable area for tea bags, drinks like hot chocolate..flavored jelly beans, pencils/pens..travel clock..paper, note and stationary and I ususally tear off phone numbers if I need to an jam them in there from time to time if need be, or web sites.. small but powerful flashlight. I keep an magnifiying glass/tweezers and nail clipping items in my brief case ussually also...and small bar of soap and an packet of "wet ones" for cleaning hands and some spearmint chewing gum. (High altitudes..ears "popping") travel sickness medications. asprin/cold tablets. That's for around here(USA), I think you have to change for flying now maybe.

If you carry an watch,  set your travel clock to the time your landing then you'll have time changes already prepared for you, it's simply an matter of maybe changing your watch. Though its nice to have one set to where your at and another set to back home for knowing when to call at an proper time.... Depends on what kind of other equiptment you have on you also. But I've found that handling an small kid with an clock and some jelly beans, or paper an pencils can keep them entertained quite easy.  They sleep better sometimes with the low ticking clock also while on an trip...they like the type that light up also.  Probably old information to most of you by now. My first trip back to Wash D. C. to the National Archives and such places, my son was just an small toddler. Of course, most business trips don't include children...but ever so once in an while, it's nice to have these things on hand. I've shared them with other traveling mothers also.  

If I am going away for a while ;-

1 Camera and battery charger.

2 Spare memory cards

3 Good light walking boots.

4 Waterproofs

5 Mobile phone and Satnav. Dont want to get lost Lol
