When my friend went to Hawaii, she said they went on tour over the lava fields in Hawaii, and she said looking down into the firey furnerols scared her to death, she could hardly wait to get back on solid ground again Indonesia is basically 22 volcanoes hooked together with land fill from volcanoes in between them an dirt on top of that, *I just did an research article on them)....Krakatoa, the infamous of them all over there, is an area where the Pacific rim is in an wedged "pinch" and the reason why it's so dramatic and castrophic when it blows...also classified as an "Super Volcano". they pack more ounce per the punch when they are active. We all thought Mt. St. Helens would be soemthing like this volcano, but it never had the umph to it, it just bubbled out lava slowly...then quit last year...done for now. It still emitted enough lava they said to make it from the west coast to the east coat five times, one foot thick in an double highway...but even with that, she never regained her prior height, an detriment in changing our weather patterns. Storms go right over her now...and its much drier here now for it. Thanks for posting the picutre Babs, I thought it was lovely the first time I saw it, and now I know where I can go back and take another glance when I want to again...kick my feet back with an drink and an little umberella in front of an fan. "Tiny bubbles", in the sand...la la la. |
