It'll probably be over here as Imigran/ Sumatripan, but it is a prescription drug, probably the same as in the US, so you won't be able to pop into the chemist and buy it.

Thanks Paul;-)

I thought it would be prescription there also but I was thinking if I had mine with me or a Prescription written out by my DR. than if i needed to maybe I could go to a ER or a doctor there and show him that and he would be able to prescibe it for me??

The reason I am asking is i have had to use up my stash that i was holding onto for the trip and my insurance will only pay for 2 a month and i normally take 5-6 with me just in case most of the time i dont even have to use them but just a little worried if i dont have them thats when i would need them;-) So just looking for ways to get out of having to pay out of pocket for these because they are around $300.00 or more for 2 boxes.;-(((Undecided

Don't know how to find that out Debbie. Maybe a call to the insurance to explain the circumstances would help. They might agree to pay for some extra as you will be out of the country.

you shouldnt have any problems with your medical mishaps while in the uk debbie, almost every town has an Accident and Emergeny department which is free to uk residents and also visitors I think. most towns have at least one 'chemist' shop (Drug Store) usualy marked with a Green Cross sign. if you have any medical questions, either before you travel here or on your stay here, just ring NHS Direct UK. (National Health Service Direct) they are staffed by medcal staff and give free advice or contact them on the webb at this address below. (We'll even wrap you head to toe in cotton if you want lol). (cotton wool is a soft fluffy white medical dressing to protect injuries or prevent injuries lol)

as an add-to, day to day rescribed drugs from a doctors prescription usualy cost around £6 an item from the 'chemist' shop (pharmacy)

Try this site http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/tips_1232.html#medications it may help with you answers.  Of course you can contact the US Embasy once you are there in London, I don't remember the street it is on, but certainly remember that it is in close proximaty to excellent shopping!  DonnaShopping spree

Debbie, sorry to read that you suffer from migraines...so do I. They can be quite debilitating can't they? I hope you won't even need your medication while in England, but as you say, it's better safe than sorry. I think everyone here has given the best possible advice.

Donna, I love your smiley!

When I read the title, I read little. Just goes to show that the brain compensates.

Thats to funny Sue...when i read it i thought something was wrong than i noticed what it was but when i went back to look at it i thought someone had fixed it but it was still wrong,,LOL Weird.

Sorry you have migrains to Diana;-(  they are awful! I have had them ever since i was 19 tahnk God they have these drugs they are like gold to me becuase i would be out of commisson,, i would not be able to work or have a life... I can go some months without having hardly any and some i may have one every day for weeks,,crazy,,but some things like really strong perfums and cigaretts always trigger them and I can take the maxalt tablets and do well but with my neck spasams if they trigger one it takes the shot to sometimes fix them both,,I just thank God there is something to help.. Do you take meds for yours?

Thanks again Yall,
