If you feel you can offer a prayer then now is the time to ask for help and support. Anna and I will keep you in our prayers Shirley and I am sure other members will do likewise. That's the power of POE! |

I just got done talking to Norma 2 days ago in Oklahoma..and with her an fella named George about genealogy. Her William Lawson, m. Polly Atheron. She found where they married in Mercer Co., Ky but no place of death, as if he up and disappeared. I've known her for several years now. |

Back to Mt. St. Helens, she had me an bit spooked yesterday. But this time of the year those mountains that have glaciers are bare of snow, and when they start to melt, it's often inside along the glaciers, and they can cause massive and sudden "Lahars" coming down the mountain side, couple of years ago Mt. Hood did that, one came rushing down the White River, formed by the White River Glacier, took out an highway bridge..good thing no one was in the area. Closed down the whole area for for some time unitl they could replace it correctly and clean up the boulders. It must of been an pretty aewsome site as that bridge is up fairly high over the river...and it is an cement built bridge at that. In the case of MSH..she has no snow on her summit right now.So one would think what was going on yesterday was lava climbing up perhaps or emitting gasses maybe?..it sure wasn't steam. Teh recorder drums yesterday were just jumping in small quakes...all seems quiet this morning but they are still talking about this event here. Anything happen on the south or east side and you have an huge huge amount of people affected. an possible true human tragedy of paramount portions. I was busy yesterday and then some, I did up 4 quarts of peach slices, four quarts of green grapes, to play around with later on, and already had dried four cups of them into raisins. which I added with red dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, an bit of rice krispie cereal and plain colored M & M chocolate candies for some "trail mix" munchies, also did another quart of chopped up plums , and two quarts of blackberries..and froze it all. Plus went t0 the store picking up meat on sale, and still have an bit of that to do this morning..plus some zucchini squash. I also stayed up until 2 am the night before all this working on the notes to go with this project for Chris an Sarah about Oregon. In case any of you over there, would like to know about here someday...reference material. I thought it an nice cultural exchange of an sorts...to add with my donation. But I'm far from done...I have those pictures to get as of yet. You can post what you want, when it arrives as perhaps an bit of an tour story. As you'll see, much of it involves Capt Boughton from Brtiain...whom came up the Columbia River many years ago, prior to the Lewis and Clark "Corps of Discovery" expedition in 1806. |

Mountain about to blow (although it won't now that POE prayers have been received) and you talking about your belly! LOL The probability still exists of course otherwise you wouldn't have been 'spooked' by it yesterday would you? The project you are working on for Chris and Sarah sounds interesting, and the donation for POE will be gratefully received. Thank you Shirley.

Things are back to normal at the recorder drums up on the mountain. Your prayers must of worked! Where were you in 1980? I was working that morning and going crazy myself...they had put me over in fabrics to relieve the gals for break, and I'd never worked there before,..in comes this cute little girl and gets 20 differrent ribbons for her hair...each one had to be plugged into the machines back then my sku #, amount by decimals, and X=price. it was taking me forever, as she decided on each ribbon..and people were lining up behind her, and I thought she was done, she says,... You know, could you do that all over again? I wished I could of just went 2 times the receipt, but I couldn't each thing had to be rerung all over, by then I was sending people to other departments to pay for their merchandise. By the time I got home for luch, I was just "spent" as they say..tired mentally. My hubby says, they think she's gonna a blow, and in my mind being stressed out myself..I said..Go ahead..Blow!..an about then did she ever...as this massive black cloud rose out of the top of the mountain, which I can see from my house not to far away on the area where there are no houses. I was thinking, "Hope you feel bettter now!"... I went back to work.
