Don't mind ambulances blocking the road - we need their services enough in our family Jason!

I have a disabled parking bay outside my house for me. Placed there by the council. You wont believe how many people park there when there are spaces all down the road. And not one of them puts a disabled badge in the window. The times that I have gone out, only to have to park around the corner in the next street when I come home, because some idiot who lives round the corner thinks it is easier to get out in the morning.

It is so inconsiderate of people Peter. It used to really annoy my Dad when people parked in the disabled places out and about too. These days they provide more spaces but over 20 years ago they only used to have one ot two spaces which were always taken up with people with no badges!

In Massachusetts it is a state law that bicycle riders are to use the roads and obey the same traffic laws as automobiles (most bikers stay to the extreme right to stay out of the way of faster moving vehicles as much as possible). Despite this, there are some drivers who get annoyed if not down right angry with bikers and behave in a rude and unsafe way, sometimes actually putting the life of the biker at risk.

Case in point: I was riding along on the side of the road (in a marked bikers lane mind you) and some idiot comes right up behind me and lays on his horn and then whips right around me and starts cursing at me as he goes by. He scared me so badly that I nearly lost control of my bike and came close to falling into on coming traffic. Yell

This kind of inconsiderate, rude, and even dangerous actions on the part of some drivers makes my blood boil.

Going back to Diana's I have had a few similar incidents this week - something in the stars maybe? !!!

This morning along the busy road to school I flashed out a car that seemed to be struggling to get out of his drive with his reversing lights on. I waited patiently for him and then he reversed really quickly nearly hitting my car, pulled up by the side of me and started shouting! I just drove off but I think I better stop being so courteous!!!

Yesterday when we went for Joe's physio at the hospital the car park was packed. Luckily a car by the side of me started reversing so I thought good and put my indicator on to go in the space leaving the man enough room to get out. The guy in the BMW in front who was well past the space by now slammed his car into reverse, blocked the man in the space from getting out and then kept edging nearer and nearer into the front of my car! In the end I had to give in and reverse and let the git have the space! Just by chance the space two up came free and it was a bigger and better space! I was annoyed though and I said loudly to Joe how some people were so desperate to get a parking space they resorted to bad behaviour and trying to reverse into peoples cars! He was cowering in his boot (trunk of the car!).

Oh no - I seem to manage two annoyances a day at the moment!!!! Not good.

Talking about schools again - as you know Joseph got off crutches this week and his knee is still swollen and painful and he is undergoing physiotherapy. I had a text yesterday at 3pm from his senior school saying that he was 6 minutes late for assembly and they had given him detention! I was furious - I am still up on the ceiling!!!! I rang the stupid teacher and asked what had happened to sympathy and tolerance at that school - poor kid came out welling up with tears. Walking that massive building is such a big effort for him at the moment but he never complains! They let others spit, snog, bang windows, swear at the drivers, run in front of the cars and fight but 6 minutes late when you have a bad leg - they think that is a crime!!!
