Is there a glimmer of hope for British bees?

It's a worldwide problem, Barbara.  Bee populations are down here too.  It's a combination of causes, but I think they have the same problem as any species of wildlife suffering population declines - habitat destruction and fragmentation.  Maybe we all need to set up a hive or two in our yards.

I heard somewhere that if the bees die out we will die out a few years after them - don't know if that is true! We went to Quince Honey Farm in South Moulton when we were in North Devon which was a really interesting place - the boys loved it!
