Ron, I just sent out POE an money order, Oregon tour books and history of my family and pictures, to the address you have to send all checks to via PIctures of  England.com and the address listed, They said it should arrive in an couple of weeks. There are pictures in it you can use to change my avatar if you'd like...as well as post. An short story. My scanner/faxer/copier is acting an lot like my computer downstairs was, and they said that the drives had been taken out on it. In short it just kept running and running. But I'll see if my daughter in-law can help me again on this maybe.. They have an computer of their own. Someone needs to tell me when they get this, as it's insured.. Can you get this information to Chris and Sara for me? It was expenisve to mail it, but gosh, you realize that Oregon and Britian could show the world how its done for exchanging land to each other without an "war". That took place in 1846/47. But using some just common sense between them. Let's hope that can continue in the days ahead also. At any rate there's not much more I can send to you history wise about where I live and grew up and my "roots" so as to say....one shoudl do it pretty much. So it goes this is good basic foundation infromation in general to help you over there should anyone want to travel in this area. If I can't get over there someday, maybe my grandchildren will. You just never know.

My news for the day...Forbes just came out with their richest guys in the USA lists, as ususal for the 16th year, Bill Gates of Micro-soft came in first., followed by an Nebraskan politicians son second, investor..and thirdly the Walmart Dept Store family. After that it had some people in there involved in lawsuits because of the way they earned thier riches. Most everyone lost money this year of some kind, which added 14 new people to the Forbes listings. In the meantime Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis is retiring amid an lot of controversey for his way of handling the company. ...."But Lewis  came under even greater attack when it was learned the investment bank gave billions of dollars in bonuses to employees even as it asked for more federal bailout money."... which included an additional 20 Billion dollars.

Hi Shirley, very much looking forward to seeing your work and thank you so much for your donation to POE. I will of course see that it gets to Chris and Sarah if you have sent it to the wrong address ie me rather than them. We will of course do whatever we can to accommodate any changes that you require.

All sounds very interesting!

Ok, let me think here, what things can you accomodate me with?..laughs* Other then letting me know you have the check and materials, I can't think of anything else. Oh, I di have one thing, there's an pciture in it, of an leaf, up very close, with raindrops on the leaf, reflecting off an boquet of primroses, I thinkis an extra ordinary picture. What that would take to put on line, not usre, but you'd have do do the picture of it, and like they have and picture ofthe boquet so people could see what the reflection is...I don't know if you can do that with copyrighted material, but isn't most everything these days like that in ways. You would think as long as it was un-altered, it wouldn't matter. You decide on that one. I would add that to one of my favorite photgraphs here I think.

Well, we got to hear an "live" report from Art Bell stuck on the 19th floor of his condo with his family in Manila, after the typhoon went through and another two may be joining to go over it again, but last he said, it hit the north of the island and was headed south, but he was hoping it would turn north again, which last report says Japan may be hit instead...it's an cat. 5 last report with winds to 200 mph. He says there is massive amounts of rain over there, in 6 hours it rained enough to equall an year's rain total. Manila is an city of 12 million people. He says the entire nation, of the Phillipines, which consists of about 1200 islands is under state of calmity. He is fine, his family is fine. He says that there is now hoarding of food and an state of emergency put on all prices right now...that no one can sell beyond thier last price at the market. He says if we can show any relief, please do. Oregon sent out our special health unit last week.. the "Mercy Corps" made up of an group of medical professionals that volunteer their time to go to disaster places world-wide for medical help. They spent this last year since Katerina restocking their shelves I understand...because they were at Sumutra before that and I think several African nations also. They are blaming this high unusual rain on global warming, and hope true to form, that this month ends their typhoon season. He was broadcasting the other night as an guest host when the storm interupted his broadcast...so it was good to hear from him and what has happened since then. He says there are 400.000 people homeless and many are still in areas with water to their waist in heigth.
