What is it that makes us so-called 'humans' turn on our children (well some anyway). How can anybody abuse children of any age, let alone 1 - 3 years old? And what makes them want to take photographs of their abuse to show their fellow sick b......s? If I were in charge of dishing out the penalty I would have all offending men castrated and the women, well a pot of super glue wouldn't go amiss! Then after a few weeks when their eyes are bulging, I think they should then be allowed to meet the childrens parents......just for a chat of course (yeah). Dirty b......s, they should be drowned!

Ron, I know exactly what you mean. I think some people don't have souls and they are just animals in the worse sense of the word.

I think what makes the following story especially poignant is that so many other family members knew of the abuse and kept quiet about it.

The case of six month old baby Briana raped, bitten all over her body, beaten, repeatedly by her uncle, father, and mother until she died is beyond my comprehension.

My understanding is that the perpetrators are now serving an 18 year sentence in prison (the maximum penalty in New Mexico where the crime took place). My hope is that they'll each be cornered by other inmates and after being subjected to the same kind of abuse they inflicted on that infant, will be killed.

I edited this to remove the link about the news coverage. It was brutally graphic and I realized it wasn't appropriate for this site. But any one can see it by googling "Baby Briana".

Well, in Yahoo today, there's an article about MIcheal Jackson and some tapes he made with an relgious leader about his life, in which he is saying that his father "Joe" use to "oil him up" and whip him with an iron cord. Had to be perfect you know. Him an dJanet use to visualize the death of their father for doing it also. I often wonder about "walk-in" aleins at times by way of "spirit", because people are doing such extra-ordinary things these days in killing children. If you'll take notice most of our animal/plant life these last 20 years has died off. If you will take notice the people that do thiese things often have some kind of "tie" to something biblical or religion also. What makes them do it...they are trying to solve an problem through insanity. Word needs to get  out, the cruelaty to those weaker then yourself is "insanity". Word needs to get out, keep the kids away from people...when they are like this. Pray that Satan goes back underground for 12 times the 1,000 years God gave him. When you bite someone, what your doing is "eating" thier energy or soul...what these people were doing were killing this child at "soul" level...besides bodily..and now the question is why?..I assume at her tender young age, she was innocent of sin...most likely what they were after. Again, our so called "alein" agenda coming through? Whom knows. I understand its an master/slave type of living. But that's what all this is about...they wanted her "soul" for some reason. Such evil.

I had the BBC on at work yesterday, Ron and I heard about this story.  Every time you think you've heard the most appalling story, another comes along to top it.  And it's scary to think of how many cases there are that we probably will never hear about.  Our society seems to be rotting from the inside out.

I couldn't believe this case. Years ago it was so rare to here of women conducting these sort of attacks and now it is commonplace. In fact we were only saying the other day that there is so much more of this type of thing about. I know there has always been abuse and alot of it was "swept under the carpet" years ago but there does still seem to be an increase - is it the media giving sick people the ideas? - I think they are too graphic with their descriptions of what happened - almost telling these people how to do it.

Sadly although I love the internet and the way it has helped me meet my friends here I think it has been an evil tool to help these people conduct their crimes. What I couldn't understand is how they found out through FB that they were all interested in this despicable behaviour.

Maybe FB isn't moderated sufficiently well, or at all for that matter, I don't know! Although I have an account there (if thats the right term) it's only because people from the States named me as a friend regarding their love of C. S. Lewis. I don't use it for social contact, why would I need to do that with POE here for me? That said FB is second only to Google so somebody must think it's the way forward.

You wouldn't get away with it here on POE because we wouldn't allow it. POE remains (and always will) a family friendly website, the content of which is checked on a very regular basis by people who care about the website and each other. As you said Stephanie, despicable behaviour!
