To direct an wordage...OK..should I have said "Toosh"... of the opposite side...instead? The delicate "bottom" antomy?...Surely the British know an spade is an spade when they see one don't they? Is that why Mr. Cromwell is over here writing about British battles during the days of Chilvery and conquest because he talks about an guy whom in an sword fight steps over an guide line to an catpult, his enemy slashes the rope and the rope goes up through his groin to his stomach where his entrails pour out onto the ground, as he slumps over in his death...I was being "British" then when I said quietly "Oh YUCK!" wasn't I? You need to tell me what distinguishes an "Americanism". He was an bad brute in the novel Ron, and most likely deserved it.You may have his ghost over there running around somewhere...I'd be wary at the very least. |
