I can not even tell you how many this makes it just PI**** me oFF so much, i know these young stupid hormonal kids go out and get pregnant and freak out when the time comes because there scared to death but my gosh we have laws here that if you have a newborn baby and just leave it at the doorstep of the police station or a firestation no questions asked!!! So why do these girls go and have these babies and just dump them in the garbage when sooooo many ppl are looking to adopt new borns I just dont get it!!!! And they can even go to the hospital and not be stuck with a bill but instead they are having them in a gas station bathroom in the toliets and just leaving them there what the heck!!!!!  I do fell for these girls because we all make stupid mistakes but its not these babies faults they should at least have a chance.. just wanted to know how you guys fell about this is it just me that gets so mad about this??? and when these girls are caught what do you think should happen to them?? Losing a baby is catasrophic under any circumstances ...

We've just gone through a bad time with swine flu in the southern hemisphere and having two daughters pregnant .... we lost one after 3 days .... but we've a healthy baby boy who'll be 0 yrs on Saturday coming.

I think its awful, trouble is a lot of the girls that do this, are extremely depressed, uneducated etc.... just have a whole heap of problems! what they do is VERY wrong, but people will fall through the net and end up dumping babies like this!  some are still born, and it screws them up so they try to get rid of the baby, to wipe away the memories! of course it won't, but who knows what frame of mind they're in having just given birth to a dead baby! we only see the after effects, and thats enough to screw our heads up, so imagine how the parents are gonna feel!  if they are uneducated and depressed they won't seek help very often, because it all seems hopeless, i feel sorry for them to be honest even though what they're doing is wrong.

I too feel sorry for them.  Nine times out of ten they have nobody to turn to.  It is tragic that they feel they have to just leave a baby like this, maybe they have no choice, we don't know the circumstances.  I'm not saying it's right but what is the answer.

It is horrible!! I think they need to make it clear to the girls in urban or depressed areas that the option of leaving your baby at a hospital, police station or fire station is a safe option. From what I understand, it is no questions asked, they will not look for the mother, they will just take the baby to the right people in foster care. These kids are still going to do what they do but they need to be made aware what they can do.....so they can do the RIGHT thing.

I may seem to be hard, but I can see no excuse for this action. After all, this is a life. Everybody knows it is wrong, even uneducated girls. If the baby is still born,it still deserves a proper funeral. I dont know about other countries, but over here, ignorence is no plea in Law. There are so many authorities that provide help that there is no excuse.

In this day and age,I know that property is more important than life. You get a longer prison sentence for stealing than for murder but,for Gods sake isnt life more important than this?

Sorry for the rant, but this sort of thing gets right up my nose.

Hey, I'm right there with all of you.  It breaks my heart every time I hear of this happening.  I also feel that if these girls happen to be caught then they should be prosecuted appropriately.  That baby you put in the trash was after all a human being.  And then educate or re-educate them, if they're pleading ignorance, etc., so they don't simply go out and repeat their mistake.

Well, I can tell you about the one that happened not to far from here, they too found the baby dead in an dumpster..dead....it appears this young hipsanic girl came up as an illegal to live with her sister, whose husband "pimped" her out at 14 years old to anyone he could find, she had no feelings for the father, she probably didn't even know who was the father...when she found out that she was pregnant, she hid it, which wasn' t to hard to do, as she looked half starved to begin with, she could not go ot any kind of authorites being here illegally..when the baby was still born, she dumped it in the dumpster thinking no one would notice. Well, they did, they picked her up and could of prosecuted her for murder, but the story she told was so pathietic on what her brother-in-law was putting her through to "earn her keep" that they bought her an ticket to go back to her parents. She did not speak English. This is so common with them here in the state that an sheriff in Eastern Oregon sued the country of Mexcio to recover for the airline tickets back for these people, saying the town was to tiny to pick up free flights back home to people shouldn't be here in the first place. In short he wanted Mexcio to see some responsiblity toward those leaving the country illegally. That is what I meant here awhile back by saying those of us don't want them here don't say that out of discrimination, but rather out of saving grace to their humanity. We have laws where an woman can leave her child with no questions asked, but these people don' t want the exposure to the authories asking about their background. You can bet this young woman went back home now in "disgrace"..most likely being Catholic.. and most likely hating her so called "American" expereince...for what her own people did to her. But we will most likely be blamed for it anyway. So goes, No, you can't hate them, you have to feel sorry for children being raped daily against their wishes without proper medical care, to her it was probably an forced deplorable business transaction with little feeling of "love" nor happiness to it.
