The fact is that there are a lot of criminals out there, who have done a lot worse crime and got less time! She was apparently caught on cctv opening up his cell at night. The couple are to set up home together on her release. I say let her out now and allow her to give the child the attention he/she will need, or maybe another wayward child in the making? |

However, I do agree that sending her to prison for this indiscretion appears to be an over-reaction. Apparently (correct me if I am wrong) this "relationship" was by mutual consent and not forced as it often is by male officers upon female inmates. I may question the woman's judgement ethically and morally, not to mention the general lack of intelligence in getting involved with criminal, but the child must now take priority, and he needs his mother. It's hard to make a judgement without knowing all of the facts. |

I agree she shouldn't have done this but there again sometimes people fall in love in the wrong circumstances. She should lose her job - but 30 months is too harsh. |
