I like watching the Hallmark Christmas shows on the "telly" but an few of them evoke such emotions, not sure they are all that good for me. I received an link to picking out an random card to US servicemen in Iraq with an variety of random messages...you pick one of those out also...basically put in your name, town and state. I picked out an shape of the USA in red, white and blue flag stripes surrounded by little kids that said something to the tune... "Just thought I'd say "Thank you" this time of the year, knowing you are far from home, family and friends, and look forward to your safe return to the states soon...Happy Holidays! They likewise send it out randomly to the soldiers that receive them. A little something for them at least this year. Other then that been sending out KISS receipes..."Keep It Simple Stupid"...as we talk about tough times, like homemade chocolate mix...3 quart-sized envelopes of non-fat powdered milk, 1 1/4 cups of sugar or substitute to equal...1 cup unsweetened cocoa, and dash of salt..mix, and put 1/3 cup of the mix into 6 ozs. of hot water to make the chocolate. Got Christmas wreaths delivered tonight from the Scout fund-raiser and tomarrow is the annual food drive locally. It's sunny and it's cold..but they with-drew the snowstorm of next week possibly now. Definately an "hard freeze" going on.. Still decorating the house. Woke up with such veritgo this monring I could not get through this house without hanging on to something, so I did nothing most of today. I understand there was an large solar event early today also. With that I go for now..as I get things done, I'll come in an pick on everyone more often... then what's going on right now. Anyone seen any new Christmas Links...cards..whatnot... out there this year as of yet??? |

As for the slang word, yes it is used and basically means twerp, fool, funny maybe somebody where perhaps the lights are on but nobody at home! I would say it is used, probably more 'lovingly' rather than anything else. You sure have a busy time out there!

You'll be out of steam before Christmas. If memory serves, you put up several Christmas trees, don't you? Take a deep breath and put a few other people to work around there if you're not feeling good. Glad you're feeling better too, Elizabeth.
