It only ran for two series but I was completely gripped and had no idea of what the ending would be. (I hate it when they announce the end result before you have watched it!). We bought it on DVD and watch it over and over again. Other favourites include Ashes to Ashes, Sharpe and Dr Who (with David Tennant). |

I had the good fortune to briefly meet Patrick Macnee in East Lansing, Michigan in 1990. He was exactly like his character John Steed--witty, urbane, charming and thoroughly British! I also enjoyed the short-lived "space western" series Firefly, which spawned the film Serenity. Great storyline, complex characters-- serious and irreverent at the same time. |

They were both a product of their times. I watch an episode of The Man From U.N.C.L. E. every week, as I have the DVD set (about 43 episodes, so I get a MFU fix all year). Couldn't really call them drama, as they were also tongue in cheek.

She probably will not have heard of it either, Ron. Eastwick is a new series here in the US (this is it's first season) loosely based upon the movie "The Witches of Eastwick". I've heard that the show hasn't been getting good ratings though and will be cancelled. Too bad. |
