Another oldie for a new generation. What phobias do you have?

Mine are Baked beans (I can't stand even looking at them!) and spiders

Well who would have guessed you could have a phobia about baked beans, but now I come to think of it I have a lactose intolerance and cannot bear to touch or smell cheese.

I get vertigo if I look down from any height - don't even like looking at aerial photographs, but OK looking out of an aeroplane - weird (maybe because I don't look straight down!Smile.

I also cannot stand the smell of smoke from fires (I was lucky enough to escape from a burning building many, many years ago, then a raging fire swept through our farm - don't even like the smell from braai's (barbeques to non-south africans) Frown

Maggots - I have a real fear of them and yet, of course they are successfully used in medicine.

Don't like cat's at any time of day or night, but especially when they do their 'business' in my garden which reminds me, where is the Queen of Threads? Anybody heard from her lately?

I have full blown phobia of people in masks, or face paint. Anyone in full costume where their face is covered or changed.  I literally break out into a cold sweat, feel sick to my stomach and I feel faint.

Of course I don't like spiders.

I used to have a phobia of Hares, not rabbits but Hares. Same symptoms as above, but luckily you don't see a Hare every day. I can actually look at a picture of a hare now and not get sick to my stomach. I believe it's Jason who has an awesome Hare picture here on POE.

Don't like looking up or down lift/elevator shafts; I even have nightmares about them. I guess spiders and snakes need some better PR management.

A bride I recently photographed adorned herself with a 5  foot King snake. I wouldn't think many brides would do that-----but he was friendly ! Smile
