Topical subject I think Peg.

Now where was that sunset last night? All I saw was thick black clouds. Did anybody else see a nice sunset?

Had a nice one in Michigan last night, Peter, but I don't think it was because of the volcano!

You could be right there Rob. Lol

Hope this works. Some photos of the volcano taken just after the eruption plus some earlier ones. www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/04/icelands_disruptive_vol...

People asked in "earthboppin" what's the diference between this volcano and Mount St. Helens in 1980....well, the spewing lava, and the over one million people live within 50 miles of the mountain for one thing, but then St. Helens melted the snow back into herself and became like an "pressure cooker" building up steam and blew out the side of herself also. Iceland's rivers look bigger also, because when the ash fall, mud and debris came down river  here, it had moved an steel bridge out of the way, and risen so high there were muddy marks for the river level on the lower branches of the tall pine trees, along the river's bank...I did not see that in these photo's though I noticed it had taken out an road. They are awesome to see, but I think Iceland's is located in an much safer area then out here with two huge metropolitan cities near by. Mount Saint Helens took out 35 square miles around her when she did her final "blow" episode, the people she killed, and the stories of the survivors are heart rendering to read...she covered Yakima, Washington in ash that looked like it had snowed..Gray snow...she created her own weather with the Ash, and people got fantasic views of self-made monsterious lightening strikes within the ash...as it travelled away from the mountain. I could never get myself to want to be as close as these people are in these pictures...knowing what St. Helens did back in 1980. I know that people often walk the lava fields in Hawaii also...but just one break through in it and your "vapor" from that heat. Call me cautious...I've seen the broiling black clouds now several times from my safe distance, at my house... and glad that's as exciting as it ever got for me, here. I live within 50 miles of three of them...and they 50 miles apart in an triangle...Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Hood. I did enjoy seeing these pictures though, so thanks for the link.
