A dog will keep cats out of the yard, plus, if you decide that what you'll do to keep fit is take a walk everyday, and then you find yourself putting it off, well, the dog won't let you. Dogs will also take care of any doings the cats leave behind. Anybody who's experienced having both a cat and dog at the same time as pets know how hard it is to keep dogs out of the litter box. They consider it a delicacy. lol
