The Number 1 single was:
Lonnie Donegan - "My Old Man's A Dustman (Ballad Of A Refuse Collector)"

Geez, that's not romantic!! Tongue out

Cathy I have a great story about that single. 5 days before my 1st (doomed) wedding to Stephen his father (who was a dustman) ran away with a 26 year old girl. His wonderful and very dignified mother managed to hold her head high at the wedding but at the reception I cringed as the DJ played "My Old Man's a Dustman" for some reason!!!!

No. 1 when I was born was Elvis "Crying in the Chapel" which is good as I love Elvis.

And me James.....Lol

Anna's number one was...Al Jolson • Anne Shelton - "Anniversary Song"

James is this a sneaky way of checking out everyone's age? lol

I share Anna's song although a number of sites credit this also to Dinah Shore.

Other sites list:

"Heartaches" by Ted Weems, Near You" by Francis Craig, "I Wonder Whose Kissing Her Now" Perry Como, "Ballerina" by Vaughn Monroe --- seems to depend which site you look at!

Sue H used to keep a 'birthday book' Cathy, but it kinda got a bit too much I think. Tut, just can't get the staff! Lol

BTW Happy belated Birthday Shaun from Anna and Mr Ron as you have described me previously. Hope you had a great day.
