pastry               what's bacon clanger, I've never heard of it?
Suet pastry mix Cathy....flour, suet, water, salt and pepper to taste, mix to make into dough, flour a board, roll it out to oblong shape (about 12 inches by 9 inches). Next make the filling....fry an onion, cut bacon into small but chunky pieces and add to onion. Spread it on rolled out dough
and then roll it up like a swiss roll. You also need a muslin cloth and greaseproof paper, on which you spread butter to stop it sticking. Wrap the bacon clanger in the greaseproof paper, then in the muslin cloth which needs to be tied and steam it for a couple of hours. Slice it and enjoy with vegetables etc....yummy!!

No doubt somebody on POE will find a recipe for you!

Oh by the way......FISH

Hey Ron, I've never known anyone outside of my family, who knows what a bacon clanger is. I'm impressed!

My mum use to put hers in a pudding basin and steam it, thus doing away with the muslin cloth.

Oh my, I'm going to have to order some suet (they don't sell it over here) from the English store and make one now.
