Join in all the fun threads James - wish you could come and cut trees down here, they completely block the sun and make the house sooooo cold.

I can remeber when our trees now huge and need trimmed back, were but an few wee limbs and we use to watch the summer heat "waving"off the street wondering it would melt before the sunset that night. It is quite an difference now...I went over to my nieghbors whom had one of those airal photo's taken when we first bought our houses, and you can see our swimming poll back then taking up 2/3 of my yard. I put up with cleaning that thing for about 10 years and with everyone in it most nightly and then we took it down to buy an boat. By then the kids were old enough they wanted the "river" and all it had to offer, including the girl looking. So we took up water sking and using it to teach "Scouts" through the years. My kids went into ATV's at least until recently...and we had one stolen. BTW..my grandson just went up another rank in the Scouts, he's now an Weblo...they had the award ceremonies last weekend.

You talk about having an day of toil, that's when I use to like to sit in the lawn swing at night, after an bath, and look at stars and listen to my CD's on my pocket cassett...pet my animals. There was Pink Floyd..."Anybody out there?"...they put this album to laser light shows at OMSI (Oregon Museum of science and Industry)...kids always told me it would really "blow your mind" if you showed up slightly inebriated to see it also, such are the younger generations...liked all sorts of music, Neil Diamond"s "Thank the Lord for the nighttime"...but such were those years of long ago...there were quiet dreamy type songs also...for quiet moments.. Songs that made you think. I like going to the river about the "magic hour" as they call it also...when the sun set is flaming and the trees are dark forms...the stars just start peeking out an bit from an slowly faiding blue sky..  Sip an glass of wine and enjoy the "cooling off " of the day. After yesterday's commontion, I took Ruby out of his cage, and he gave me his usual blowing of "smack"sounds for kisses, to I tucked him under my chin and talked softly to him and told him,,Been quite an day today, you know Ruby...and there he was "cooing" and making gurgling sounds of love, as if he "understood"...put him on his limb for the night and shut off the lights. I know he misses "princess" also in ways, I can't afford him an lady type bird to woo..she's to expensive...as an bird, I could afford an "hooker" probably easier...honest guys...Oh, well, I let you party on..besides, I make my birds have enough "baths" as it is around here. Show me how to party... it's been awhile since I've been to one in ways.

I can remeber on Friday nights we use to see who could eat the hottest if not the most taco's(we ate Taco Bell because we were kids back then with not an lot of money to waste)...with an icy cold beer...that was an bit of blowing the "hot breathe" some nights for hours in conversations and laughing...and everyone working them over for some time before we declared an winner. There were the "fanners" whom thought if they waved thier hands it would cool things off in their mouth....there were the "I can take anyone" guys....with tears running down, there were the "this is absurd you guys"...gals...who would look cross-eyed and grab an beer real quick..and finally the "Had enough" with the cigarette coming out and the hand waving back the offer of another taco. Jokes galore most the time also. Sometimes an sweatshirt would come off for better ventilation and getting down to business.. but not to often. We always kept plenty of malox tablets around for "tooting" also..though that didn't happen much either...it only brought on more jokes if it did. We had an regular medical kit if anyone needed it. We'd get to hashing over receipes we knew and people that made hot foods... it could be "fun" depending on the crowd. What started out dignified was taken down to "common" suvival by all real soon and people left out the so called "stoic" reception talk.. to just being people and friends. An good lemon and lime drink fit the night well also...if your not an beer type. Don't forget the sour cream and gucamole...to put out the "fire sauce" if need be. Easy in the summer sitting outside near an fire pit, or inside in the winter and it's cold out..just add soem chile or chips..
