I am in a celebratory mood: I just found out (a couple weeks late!) that the KIG--"Kent International Gateway"--has been defeated.  Proposed for the Bearsted/Thurnham area east of Maidstone, in Kent, it was to be a huge railway transportation facility right on the edge of an area of natural beauty, the Kent downs, ruining an area of irreplaceable loveliness.  Now my ancestral home area is safe from ruination, at least for now.  I propose a toast of a pint of the best Kent brew in celebration!

Cheers from me too, David.  Make mine one of those Kent brewskis too.  Congratulations!
