Hi Everyone,

I haven't got time to say hello to you all individually at the moment. I am off to Kernow (Cornwall that is, to the 'Grockles amongst you. Grockles-Non Cornish, to those of you who are not)

I will return in 2 weeks and will but will reply to you individually when I get back.

Regards,

Ray.

But you only just got back Ray!! lol.  It's great that you are well enough to travel and of course now we can anticipate lots of great photos of Kernow. If you discover wonderful places please remember to add them to the thread "English Counties - Whistle Stop Tour"!!  That was the first counties tour which covered Isles of Scilly, Cornwall and Devon. (Free advertising again, lol)

Bummer, I missed Ray and Miya.  Looking forward to seeing you when you get back Ray.  Hope you're feeling good.

And Miya.  Where are you?  I'm still lovelorn after all this time.

Wink

Hello Folks,

Thank you for the warm welcome. I returned from my holidays, but last week, fell of my motorcycle at a local country park.

My first instinct when these things occur is to put the bike upright again, and try to pretend nothing happened. This time, I found it impossible to move.

I lay in a deserted car park for 45 minutes with the bike on its side, engine running and lights on. Eventually a park ranger came along, and with other visitors, stood my bike up and summonsed the paramedics.

Eventually they arrived and administered Gas and Air. (Well it would have been Gas and Air if the paramedic had opened the valve on the cylinder!)  I sucked so hard my eyeballs nearly popped  out and she eventually realised that it was not switched on!

Shortly afterwards I was carted off to the local A and E where a broken femur was suspected.

Examination revealed it was a torn hamstring, which  is very painful.

So, here I am, hobbling on elbow crutches. I found an eye patch and a stuffed parrot, and I have memorised Robert Newton's immortal phrase 'Arrrgh Jim Lad!'

I am now waiting for the agents to contact me for the 'remake.' I want a'walk on' part!

Anyway, I am slowly recovering.

Anyone want to buy a motorcycle?

Ray.

Hi Ray, sorry to hear of your mishap, but pleased that you have a sense of humour still.

I know I shouldn't admit to this but I really did laugh at your 'predicament' described above. Hope recovery is good and quick mate Lol

Oh my goodness Ray what a rotten experience, but really glad that you are (hopefully) on the mend.

Does that mean we will see more of you on POE now you are shackled to your crutches?  It's an ill wind............... lol.

Do we get to see the photo of Long John Silver alias Ray??
