I had to know before 'Ack Emma' so I Googled it. There are two answers it seems, so I will wait on Paul.

I'm off up the 'apples n pears' dear friends, so it's goodnight from him and goodnight from her!

Well, it's origins appear to be the Daily Mirror which isn't in our family archives, but the medals my Grand dad got are which were the Star (pip), Victory ( squeak) and British Empire ( wilfred); nick names for this set of medals from WW1.

Not sure you did Cathy - Ron & Ruth spelt it "Lekky" and James "Lecky", as it is probably a slang word I wonder who is right??  James can't spell anyway, lolLaughing  But it shows you read everything doesn't it?

Thanks Paul - I preferred to link the names with the medals from WW1 but that was after doing a search on Google. Interesting, thanks!

Yes Cathy, At times I get to read. But I think I was right. Check here. James doesn't always misspell!

My link button does not work so I'll type it out.  http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/l.htm
