Now I'm tired from being so tense and awake from rain and wind hoping my trees would stay intact..they did. One reason I was here so much...as I was watching local radar as it went through..and posting in web sites I frequent. Another day...another week. See what I can get accomplished today. Be good everyone...talk to you later on. |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 19:31 on 26th October 2010 Yes it was yesterday that was rather an wild one....in case you haven't heard over in Indonesia they had an 7.5 quake yesterday...but off one of islands there was an Austrialian tourist boat..full of mostly surfer's...and it go thit by the 3 foot wall of water int eh tusuami that followed...it exploded and then hit another boat in port likewise and it exploded...some of the people were swept as far as 200 m inland haning on to anythng they could from the boat and the debris floating with them..but all are accounted for....in other places this water has killed so far 113 people. Then came the news that Zachariah Stichtchin passed away ...author noted for his series "Earth Chronicles" and dealing with the Sumerian tablets. "Coast" is going to do an tribute to him world wide Thursday night...as they did with Glenn Kimball and Lawrence Gardiner...all three were tremedous in the fields of our past history and archeology. People of this caliber are sorely missed in the world. then we have this thing going with the wild weather also...its still lingering an bit...but its hitting really hard I understand around Chicago this morning...headed toward New York. We could stand to raise the good vibes worldwide an bit perhaps. Mt Hood had 18 inches of snow yesterday with another forcasted foot possibly...near Timberline Lodge...not so much near the 3,000 foot level of Government Camp..but all passes across the Cascde Mts. are now requiring snow tires and carry chains for travel..this storm amounted to our first really truly winter storm of the season. So it goes...sorry to be so brief..have some things needing done today..so take leave and have an good day everyone. |
