Unless common sense prevails here the Firefighters who are respected by most, will rapidly lose the support of the public. As I understand it the London Fire Brigade Union has orderded it's members to go on strike on November 5th - Yes, Bonfire Night whilst we are celebrating Guy Fawkes.

If this isn't holding the Government/Country to ransom, then I don't know what is. Further, if anybody is injured in fires that you might have responded to, I hope you can sleep at night!

Presumably there issue is over money, but hasn't anybody told this Union of the difficulty our land is facing currently? If the answer is yes, then what makes you any different to any of us? Why should you be allowed to get away with it just because you are able to bully your way through it?

Hi there Richard...good to see you!!!....

.We are already struggling over here with pensions that we can not hardly  afford to support these days...maybe its

"time" to do like the businessman has done to most his employees...fire

them...... and start over rock bottom in employees again. Cut down thier

working hours and base their benefits on the amount of hours worked.

Have an yearly limitation of wage freeze in effect...then when it comes

time to give it ..deny if like Obama did to everyone retired and on Social

Security...no problem if you have investment property...but for factory workers never had an chance in their life to make investments....it really

hurts them.  Maybe that's the problem....defining who really needs the money to live on....and who's just plain greedy these days in bad economic times. Most the business secootr is getting rid of such" unions" as this one.

Yeah, makes you wonder if they would get help from their mates on strike!
