Wrong that they attempt to impose their will on others by damaging property, isn't it? They won't change the view of the Government, will they? What do you think members? |

Many kids with training in many fields are walking out to not finding jobs these days...it makes paying back tutition kind of hard. I'm sure if they looked into things though they could find ways to give them an education without blown up expenses. |

All kids get a 'good' standard of free education up to the age of 18. If their grades are good and they wish to apply to University and are accepted they have to pay tuition fees set by the university up to around £9000 per year. If they cannot afford this they can 'borrow' the money from a private banking company until they have graduated (2 or 3 year terms) and they pay it back WHEN they find a job paying them over a set sum per year. However if they live in Scotland or Wales (Both of which are under the control of the british Government) they get it free. If you are a Welsh student studying in England its free, if you are an English student studying in Scotland or Wales you pay! trouble is if you graduate and live with or marry another graduate you could end up owing £54000 before you add your credit card bills or housing costs. To make matters worse the new coilition Government has proposed a new bill (to be voted on this thursday) and the minister (and party) proposing it is abstaining! lol Confussed??? |

As there wasn't much response to this thread, I thought I would now voice my own opinion. So as for the students having a go, why doesn't somebody tell them to stop their nonsense? Get hold of the ringleaders and kick their backsides all the way back to their place of learning whilst it still exists! They are banging their heads against the brick wall and are not going to change things. The vote tomorrow will prove that to be the case. |

I was reading this in my Christmas Book set in 1932...and got such an laugh from it...hope you don't mind me sharing it...The character to mention has the name of Lady...and she's in an private school for High Schoolers...and she's into Hollywood "big time"....remember this is 1932..she admires Jean Harlow...just got done bleaching her hair to look just like her.....so goes this story..." .Lady is in even bigger trouble...more then just the blonde hair. First of all she got an D+ on her Latin test...when the teacher handed her the test, Lady said, suposedly under her breathe "Just gimmie a viskey, ginger ale on the side, and don't be stingy, baby!".. That's what Greta Garbo says in the movie "Anna Christie". Lady has such an sassy mouth and she can't resist being the class clown...she said everyone fell to pieces laughing..except for her teacher..now mama has to go to school to talk to the headmistress". Ah..remember those school days of yore?... |

My 2 brothers happened to be a bit younger than me and at the same school at the same time. They were 'known' as mischief supreme ! ( and they truly were challenging the limits ..all the time) . Things such as sassy mouth ( as sk lawson mentions) were not allowed, along with other standards that were 'normal, acceptable behaviour of the times. Today, it seems, that even tho the younger generation has many fine, well mannered children in it, unfortunately, there seems to be a much larger number of ' absolute wasters' who seem intent on making life difficult for the rest of humanity. It makes it challenging to live in this society and maintain an positive attitude of young people. How do we turn this attitude around ? I have found a variety of ways that seem to be working, but, it surely seems crazy to have to go to this extent ! LOl....any ideas on this ????? |

They descend upon London causing havoc, destroy property, including the Royal car that Charles and Camilla were travelling in, have no respect whatsoever for their own wellbeing, or yet that of members of the public and the Police! They take no notice of the elected Politicians and yet some of these are the very people that could be running the country in a few years time. God help us!! |
