Taking photographs in a public place, ever had a problem?

Terry W in another thread says...

I will kick off with a question relevant to this site.

Has anyone any personal experience of difficulties with either Police, or other Authority regarding taking photographs in a public place?

There have been many reports of photographers having had cameras/data cards 'confiscated' under anti terrorist laws. Later, reports from Senior Police Officers belie this and say no such powers exist?

Anyone had any 'actual' experiences?

Nope ...never ...although i did get told off by a snooty volunteer in a National Trust building!!  it was ages ago and i didn't know they don't like you taking photos!! there was no signs!!

I quite often take photos at RTC's, and do have to be careful then, obviously we can't identify the patient or car reg etc ..... but it comes in handy when we hand the patient over in A&E, it gives the staff an idea of the mechanisms involved.

Krissy I think you must have "refreshed" instead of going to the "Latest Threads" on the top left.  I've deleted them for you.

It is really, really, great to see you both participating on the threads, I've missed you guys.
