Well this could be a hot potato and I am probably least qualified to comment, so what do you think members, is David Cameron right to re-organize the Health Service?

the money that is wasted is enormous--the public have no idea how much money is wasted each year.

So support for David Cameron from James and/or his family.

I must admit that when we have been to the local hospital we are amazed to see the waste, not from the nursing staff, but the hangers on, the cleaners (so called) and kitchen staff etc who are nearly always foreigners who speak very little English! Where did it all go wrong?

As I understand it Doctors will be responsible for planning your hospital procedure as of today!

Will it work, I happen to think it can but what say you members?

Yes I Agree (not with cameron, but with the question), there is unforgivable waste of money in the NHS. Why do hospitals have to have such long corridors with hundreds of staff constantly walking up and down with sheets of paper. Cant they design hospital buildings in the shape of a wheel with reception and admin at the hub. I think medical and admin staff spend most of their shift just walking around from one dept to another.

Another waste of money is equipment such as crutches, comodes, bedside tables etc which they loan out to patients, never to accept them back. A friend of mine recently broke her leg, they loaned her a pair of crutches which she used once, when she phoned the hospital they didnt want them back and told her to scrap them. I also once, whilst visiting my local recycling centre spotted a NHS van disposing of hundreds of medical aids, mostly still in their unopened packages.

This is where we can be saving on money and using it on the medical side.

Also Consultants putting in an extra 4 hour shift and getting £1000 extra per shift. This cant be right can it?
