you are right there cath,we have more choice these days and they are still rubbish not even the sports channels are worth watching.

Our TV is only used by the grandchildren to watch DVD's now.  We never watch any TV programmes.

Ah yes, those old shows..what would we do without Ed Sullivan, he did an lot to introduce us to new entertainers...for some ones you people have not already mentioned....The Andy Williams Show..the Perry Como Show....The Twilight Zone...Alfred Hichcock...Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show"...The Rifleman.....Bonanza...its still on as an re-run these days...Highway Patrol...The Smothers Brothers..The Lone Ranger...to name an few. Last and foremost...The Dick Clark Show..it came on just before the Walt Disney Club in the afternoons.

I googled for more information and found this site with the 1950's TV programmes, plus personalities and commercials.  Oh! LOL. Of course it was black & white then!
