Englands 'disputed' second city Manchester, has (because of Government cuts), today anounced the closures of its librarys and public swimming pools. it also anouced that all but one of its public toilets will be shut down. The government want to inpliment their 'BIG SOCIETY' scheme were they want volunteers to takeover public jobs such as street cleaning etc. The trouble is they wont fund the services so in effect, they are asking volunteer street cleaners to bring their own brushes.

Our city closed its swimming pools last years, lads.  But we don't have the big public restrooms like you have over there.  I can't imagine them closing, or all the restaurants and petrol stations will have queues to use the toilets.  Don't the public toilets pay for themselves over there?  If I recall correctly it's like 20 P to Pee or something like that.  That was a surprise.  In Phoenix, I've never had to pay to use the restroom anywhere.  Stores even allow you to use the toilet, even if you're not buying anything.   expect that will change in the near future.  Somebody's bound to figure out a way to tax the call of nature.  lol
