He liked the Supremes and my mom preferred the Shirelles. When I was in my mid 20s the Glenn Miller Story turned me on to big band, and that's when I started to broaden my tastes to include something apart from rock and pop. Is that what you mean by "really discovering" music? Have you ever (accidentally or on purpose) touched an electric fence?
