Only I was originally thinging of the granite in the blckhouse that is constructed of slate and granite. Did you know there was once another blockhouse accross the water and heavy rope was raised stretching between the blockhouses creating a barrier over the water to protect the harbour. So Cathyml, it is back to you (hope you head is not to sore banging against a granite wall) and where was Ron? He said I was likely to set an awkward I-spy, but I missed any of his guesses.
