Apparently two thirds of those who applied for tickets didn't get them, why?

Maybe it's because the sponsors get/got their tickets first, and maybe those sponsors have now realized that they can't really afford to be so generous to encourage their business.

Bottom line? Sponsors are making cuts and the tickets can now be offered to 'joe public'.

If it were me looking for tickets (and I'm not) I would tell the Olympics Organization to stick the tickets where the sun doesn't shine!

How much do they pay us to watch all this?

That's the only way I will see any of it all, even if the cycling does come our way. The roads here are in a shocking state ( when returning home from a long journey you can tell soon as you cross into the county how bad they really are). I suppose there will be a super smooth roadway here by the time the pantomime starts, just at the cost of any other road improvements around here. That's it I am off of my soapbox now.

First time around, or second Sue?

Did they say how easy, or difficult it was?

Easy way to get in without a ticket.  Turn up at the competitors entrance with a roll of barbed wire and say "I am here for the fencing".

Contracts for catering have been given.  Two geezers are bringing a hot dog van.  Portaloo are bringing a mobile toilet.
