However, the golden rule is always, but always remember, that if it looks too good to be true it probably is as Dave says in another thread. Emails offering everything from a prize that you've won to ten's of millions of pounds/dollars, or any other currency for that matter, should be dumped without being opened. Most people know if they have entered a competition, and beside's if you had of won a competition the organizers would send you the prize/money direct without the need to know personal details, and even the details of your relatives, as was the case from a supposed Euro Lottery that was sent to Anna's Dad just 3 days ago. They suggest that you shouldn't make the win public. Doesn't that tell you something? Some will suggest you act as their 'Agent' or 'Manager' using your own bank account for them to deposit millions. Don't give any details away whatsoever, because all that will happen is your bank account will be emptied quicker than a rat up a drainpipe! So dear members don't be greedy, because that's what these parasites are relying on, our greed! Do talk about it here in the forum, ask questions and over time a pattern will develop, you will become more aware of the scumbags that are ready to take your money by whatever means and regardless of who they hurt, or sometimes even destroy Don't let it happen to you POEIT and ask the great family of members that we have. That's the power of POE.

Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | quotePosted at 00:13 on 24th June 2011 POE member John Lawrence copied the following email that he has received in another thread. He says that it comes from POE, but in fact it comes via POE. The offender 'becomes' a user and I agree it needs to be looked at, but in fairness, I really don't think we have had these problems before. So the best advice short term is to ignore and delete it. That way the 'offender' will get fed up and move on. The email, which Paul Hilton also refers to in the forum is worldwide. In our case it starts with a message via POE as follows. This message was sent to you from another user of www.picturesofengland.com - please contact us at abuse@picturesofengland.com with reference 112481/11355 if this message is a spam message or is inappropriate in any way. Thank you for helping us to keep www.picturesofengland.com running smoothly. The nuisance email message then reads as follows: Hello dear, I am sorry to disturb you at this time, My name is Patricia i am from Africa. I have something very important about my life i want to confide on you and discuss with you about it. Please contact me back at this email address. patbaby03@yahoo.com. I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your kind reply. Yours Patricia. Ron says: John we are not missing the point, and trust me it will be looked at in due course. In the meantime please bear with Chris and Sarah as they work through other important issue's. I think the simple answer is to POEIT for all 70 million page viewers to see, and then delete it. Hope that helps in the short term.

It also good practice to avoid links of any kind that appear on websites you're not sure about.

This guy failed to meet his court date on time down in Florida because he had to buy an pair of alligator cowboy boots as his arches were hurting him...to the tune of $1,500. Some of his names on the net are "Sollog"...(son of light, light of God)..."Angelica"....amoung others...he is reported to be quite "smart" in dealing with others. Some would like Bopp to go back and give our ISP numbers..so we can tell same computer server numbers...others say it would jepardize us even more to have our ID known. Right now only the webmaster knows them...and guards the web site for us...which is an job and then some with one of this type. |
