I was informed by email yesterday that this was the case, I don't really know of course. Perhaps some clever programmer will tell me how to track their involvement?

However, because I could never fully grasp comfortable navigation of the site, and because it is so time consuming I have decided to delete my account.

In doing so I am told that even though I might think I have deleted my account, if I login within 14 days of the date that I cancelled, it will be reactivated. Common sense statement I suppose but for anybody out there who wants to delete their Facebook account here is a link that will allow you to do it, but don't attempt to login to see if it's gone for at least 14 days!

I removed the link... because (In checking out the link it seems I have fallen into the 'trap' and reactivated my account already, so I will have to start again). Maybe a Google search on how to permanently delete your facebook account would be best.

Guess those of you who want to speak to me will have to do it via the POE 'Contact' facility in your Profile. I know Facebook works for some of you, but sadly not for me and I feel I can't trust it. So cheerio Facebook.....Yippppeeee!

Seems I put the wrong link in here so I will have to start again, either way bye, bye facebook.....sooner or later!

If you're concerned about Facebook tracking you after you log off it, may i suggest that right after doing so, deleting all Facebook cookies. However, if it's not an issue for you, then leave the cookies after logging off, and they will track your browsing.

Just don't like the idea of EVERY move being tracked Paul, although no doubt others (like google, twitter for example) are at it also. It's all about finding out what we like to do, eat, drink, buy etc in an attempt to sell you more of the same thing.

I delete my cookies and browsing history on a regular basis so that probably helps a bit, but it's just the idea of the 'nosey neighbour' syndrome watching your every move.

Anyway, I guess it won't stop in the short term so at least we can be aware of it.

I think they geared Facebook more for the younger set...and twitter more for the news and information....I think even the police follow "Facebook" around looking for child abusers also...my daughter in-law has been cutting down her kids contact with others except in games and she has her call her friends she does that with... locally on her cell phone...or they text mesage each other as they play. You can always tell when there's people to stay away from..they start by putting down the parents and thier rules in the household....you know..."just don't understand you"...bunch of malarky.  Why don' tthey just automatically elelminate the account if they aren't used within 3 months. I'd also like an personal phone number for e-mail servers. Esp. gmail...if they could be called into..you woulndn't seesuch fraudulent practices goin gas as is right now...where people can hijack your email service. Mine is "out" again...I changed the password and in one day "whomever" had made it impossible to accept my password. None o fthier automated services work to restore it so far. Lose th old account...I loose all my contact people.

One thing the now generation greatly "Irriates me on"..not having direct access to people for help. Even on the telephone also..for business calls.. I wanna talk to an "live" person I can call back to when if  I need to do so...I want confirmation numbers to most of my business transactions also..I think today's way of doing things is slower, and harder to deal with and makes fraudulent practices easier to be done on people. If I had my way...you'd have an key to use in order to be on your computer also. Just like cash register clerks. You type your name in an date...and sign off also. You keep your key with you...your computer is useless without it. But....that's me...and many years ago I was "trained" on the cash register I used back then by "security".I knew whenever I open my drawer back then..I was being watched from three different ways also.... I had no problem with that.
