More on this....one of the ladies said that they told the bus driver that dropping off the lady wtth the baby at night by herself ... in HIllsboro at night.... was not an good safe idea. Which is why they all decided to exit the bus with her.  Bus company says she should of asked for assistence from the company office..next time she'll know. Being she was hispanic maybe the bus driver was afraid she'd be accused of picking on her..... if she called for assistence...who knows?  They have been continually seeknig more security for the buses and max-rail line at night. there have been seveal incidents of people attacked after getting off.

The driver was pretty cold hearted, Shirley.  I guess if the mom was letting the child run amuck and not controlling him or her (a lot of parents do), and it was creating a true safety situation, I could understand the driver giving the mother a warning that she'd best control the child.  But to kick the mother and child off the bus just because it was crying and fussy, well, my message to that bus driver would be, "get over it and do your job.  And if you can't handle being around a crying child, you might consider another line of work."

I kind of wondered if it was bothering the driver... why she didnt' ask her to move to the back of the bus.

You know James...our transit system at times....well, it's notorious for people walking out in front of it and getting hit. I use to wonder about that one..I mean whom can't see an train is coming. but then one day it nearly happened to me...I had my mind on the court case I was on and was thinking about it...and it was the train was nearly over me before I heard the whistle it was giving out....and while safe...I kept wondering why I didn't hear the train whistle earlier....and then it dawned on me the problem. With the wind blowing across the train and into it...it squelched the sound of the whistle off behind the train instead of in front of the train to warn others. It took the train being nearly up close to me before I heard the whistle and my thoughts left me and I thought...Whats going on?...and saw the train.I was lucky to beable to step backwards in time. After that I thought.."pay attention to what's going on around you first..other thoughts can be thought about later on"!

I had a similar experience a few years ago, I was shopping with my then heavily pregnant Daughter, we made our way to the bus stop, the bus we needed came a few minutes early and we made a run for it, I got to the bus just as he closed the doors, my Daughter was close behind puffing and panting, I asked the driver to open the door, he refused, shouting from behind the closed door that he was due to leave, he then sat in the bus bay for a further 3 minutes,( remember he came early)... the time spent sitting there was so that he left on time.

I begged him to open the door but he refused, the rest of the passengers sat mute on the bus, until one lady got up and demanded he open the door to let her off, which he did, she then stood on the step of the bus while we got on, my poor daughter was in such a state. The driver got on the radio to his office saying we were being aggresive, it was then that my Daughter passed out, an ambulance was called and after a check up she was fine.

As for the bus driver and the bus company, I went to the local council, the papers and the outcome....NOTHING!!

We have not used  a local bus since and share a Taxi when we go shopping.

All PSV/PCV (Bus/Coach Drivers) can be reported to the Company for disciplinary action against them for such behaviour.

They are at risk of losing their PSV/PCV licence for such an incident.

i was involved in an incident last year regarding a bus driver who was driving far too fast between stop's which resulted in me having bruised rib's he never apologised and just said he was running late --if he was running late why did he stay in the terminus for 10 min's before leaving.

i reported him to the company and a chap came out to see me,i found out later that he was suspended and taken off driving --apparantly there were a few more complaint's about him.

I wen twith my sister in-law one time to J.C. Penny's I cant' remembert why her son was throwing the tantrum, bu tI mean it was an embarassing one at the time...everyone was looking, you'd think we were killing the kid on the spot. She held on an laughed about it. She said later on that she felt that if she gave in to him, she'd always be doing that, and she didn't believe in spanking. I always told my son if he was in the house....to go to his bedroom....and rest an while, if he was out in the public....I made him sit on the floor near me...quietly if the threw an meany..but I can't ever think of him really doing so. The things he got into trouble fo rin school...was simply the way two different schools taught their kids on how to do things. I could of told that teacher that, but by then he was so upset that my son wasn't doing what the rest of the kids were, his way of handling it was repremanding..or giving out "pink slips". One school was an self-teach school(private school)...the other...the public one...was an sit down and follow what your told to do type, don' think for yourself...big difference. I've had interesting talks with the little ones....I told one kid to simmer down..he was "Irish" by the way....and he told me that I wasn't his parent...so I said, no...and this is not your parents house....so why don't you go to your own house and mess it up and tear things to pieces instead of doing it to MY house. He just looked at me. I said then..."goodbye"... he knew I really met it and stopped what he was doing.

I wonder if this child that was crying on the bus...had an wet diaper, was hungry....cold...or what was its problem...that it was fussy.
