It took them only 550 days to form a new government, but all good things must end, hey? Edited by: patrick van calck at:2nd December 2011 12:22 |

I think that is what "occupy" is all about over here....we are quietly fighting to retain from having an future dictatorship here....trying to keep democracy and an nation for and by the people one that is worthy. |
Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | Should of been the word " refrain" from an dictatorship..but I think many of us already know its here...when the Governor can just "take" money from us without legally asking us...you know there's something wrong. He did it and if anyone says he's perhaps "crooked" then they get to look " in-coherent", un-reliable and might need "medical Help"..... to the death chamber via medical services.....dam bastards!!! You don' tthink we got probelms..think again. I am talking of our "kicker checks" and over paying taxes. Stuck in his pocket and quietly "hushed up".... he simply told us what he was going to do, left on an vacation and that was that... and looked the other way..... when they said it took an "vote" of the public ... for him to keep. One of the reasons why "Occupy Portland" also "looks the other way".... as to the rules these days..giving them back an taste of what they give to us. We need jobs...they are cutting out all kinds of post office jobs...closing down stations and laying people off...no Christmas cards this year people.. I can see them closing down an day of service on Saturdays to help the budget along...but why the whole system practically. What happens if the grid goes down some day?..heh? They need to keep our basic services in tact...and they know this. Freedom of speech and communicating in expenisvely...out the door. Who does this hurt the worse...those on assistance by the Govenment.... that can barely make it month to month.... let alone have access to an computer....you see anywhere that they set aside money for monthly computer charges to stay hooked up on the net. How do most people ask you to apply for an job these days...by computer. . Having to cough up for an stamp in charges is far different then the monthly fee's for computer-land...My sister does not know what "cable" tv is...she isn't given enough money to have cable TV...this town doesn't have an huge window TV screen for the constant news..say at the front of city hall...the Library, etc. like it is back east in the bigger cities. Where people can see immediately what's going on in the world...walking past the screen. Unless I call my sister..she has no idea of world news going on. " Hey sis...I'm watching an tusuami overtaking Japan right now...from an earthquake...probably see it all over the news by tomarrow" To me these are basic issues that need addressed over here. Nobody I know of watches the local Government and school programs...on the cable...why don't they take them off the air...and put the proceedings in the local library if someone wants to see them. Would that not save local Government far more in their budgets then some of the other stuff they do to find ways to get more money? For one thing any really important issues are going to be on the nightly news to begin with. They said the "occupy Portland" protestors cost so much money...well they had three cops on the street for every protestor...and if they ran an donation "Occupy" magazine/newspaper with their grips in it..maybe they would have the money to help clean up the parks...and they don't need chemical warfare spray on people that arent' resisting arrest already peacefully....how much that cost?...and if these people are really homeless.. just.where do they expect them to go? I don't think they are accepting them in " Dignity Village" it's full to capacity. These are not street homeless...these are people whom had to move out of thier houses to rent them out because they didn't have an monthly check to cover property taxes and expenses, these are college students living there because they don't have the money to live somewhere after paying tutition...and I guess anoth er of their problems is that part time jobs were wiped off the map recently for them also....these are women with children whose husbands refuse to pay child support..and don' tmake enough money on thier own. No these people are not the dirty "wiino" street lot on the average. these are not the type to need jailed either. They simply want some help on an situation that often was not of their making to begin with. Probably had we gotten our "kicker checks" they'd had money to go live together somewhere until spring. I was reading my grandson's school news....my daughter in-law has to come up with 29 little gifts for the students and an stocking. The teacher says to go to the dollar store and see if you can get an packet or two of pencils, erasers, stickers, etc...that this is to teach the art of "giving" for Christmas. All that money on "wasted things" in the end.... I betcha. So how's parents that are already on unemployement suppose to afford this? Let alone even the dollar store is getting to be one dollar per item these days. Why couldn't she have taken an balloon like the craft ladies are doing these days...slightly blown it up...tied it off and had them paint it for an huge Christmas ornament.. one dollar for the whole class instead. I knew an teacher that made her own small pictures of the kids with an camera...that instantly deveopled the pictures..or her cell phone...and then inserted the picture into an small cardboard picture frame surrounded with old puzzle pieces and the fram spray painted in red. Each kid's picture taken... they were wearing an santa hat. Kids took in shoe boxes for the cardboard to be used...couple months ahead of time needed....thousand piece puzzle at the Goodwill is 99 cents. Paints and glue they already have at school. I'm not going to get into this any further...other then my grandkids parents already work 12 hour days getting to an from work themselves....they live 8 miles from town also...so there's the gas money to go an buy these things. I think at times the "have's" have so much.... they don't really think about what life is really like for others. |
