For 2/8d we used to get a bottle of Milk, a loaf of Bread, a Pint of Beer and change!) So what will we get 'extra' for the 14 pence? Answer, probably nothing! They put the post in the wrong letter box, and ask neighbours to take it if it's too big to put through the target letter box, rather than take it back to the Post Office. The post often ends up wet, dirty, creased and often late (a Second Class Service anyway). What should we do about it? Stop posting letters, birthday cards etc and let them put the price up yet again! They will soon realize that the days of Dick Turpin are over! What do you say members? |

Never have really got my head round 1st and 2nd class. In practise 1st class means 1-3 days and 2nd class is 1-3 days so why not just have 1 class. Doesn't really affect me too much...if i send 10 letters a year i think i would be exaggerating. Most communication these is days is electronic of some description. E-mail, Twitter, Facebook and a little outfit you might heard a bit about ....... POE!!!!! |

When something is mailed and received through the mail it can be kept forever most often. Use to have an cousin of my mother's that wrote short lines on post cards to mail out when she got to work ...to keep in touch...nice to receive...use to only cost an penney or so to send it also. Now all that is gone...and so is she...I have but her cheerry and happy "good morning" messages to read though now and then and think of her. |
