It is a question of balance is it not, all that you can do to optimise your shots against time taken and file storage space. I suppose also what you are going to do with the pics as well comes into it, as yet a 6x4 print in the pic of the week slot and what we see here on POE the jpegs work well, not managed yet to get those shots that can go on to better things-- must try harder ! |
Dave John Posts: 22335 Joined: 27th Feb 2011 Location: England | Posted at 22:58 on 11th October 2012 Maiden Absolutely, My raw files with the 500d range anywhere between 17-24mb so your from the 550d will be a bit bigger with the 18mb processor. Whereas jpeg's come out around 1/4 of that. If you the time and space it is a great way of making the most of a shot. After all a raw image is the exact equivalent of a film negative.
