I wonder what the members of POE think of climate change? Is it caused by mankind or is it largely just one of planet earth's cycles?

I don't think we, as humans,Cry can really influence this planet to any great degree except that we should not be destroying the forests. Trees soak up co2 and the fewer there are the more co2 builds up in the atmosphere. Having said that, the molecular weight of co2 is greater than that of air so it does tend to sink to the bottom not rise up and become a "greehouse gas" as scientists would have us believe.

Any opinions POEsters?

Personally Syd I strongly believe it simply the Earth going through one of its regular changes that it has been experiencing since the so called 'Big Bang'. And to my mind the sooner the scientists and politicians finally come out tell us this the better. Alright we may have contributed a little towards it but certainly are not responsible for it.

I think it's the worlds natural progression Syd (Mother Nature as we say) and that we just happen to be part of it right now.

I doubt we can do anything much about it, and believe we will all be under 50 feet of water at some stage, whether it be 50 years, 5000 or 5 million years from now!

Maybe we should be exploring the possibility of living under water, building a complex on the seabed?

Grow webbed feet and gills would be a good start. They say life came from the sea so maybe we can go back there eh?

Mother Nature rules, we may have a small influence  for a localised area for a short time, but just look at what happens after a time, the Earth or come to that the Oceans overcome the mess we make albeit decades or even a century or two- the Earth wins. But as Syd says- leave the trees alone !!

Guess I'm kind of late in getting in my opinion on this...as you know I montior an LOT of different web sites and many have to do with just this...I think the four operating HARRP stations do in fact change the weather...so far the only one willing to admit up to it is China. they openly said that they'd see good weather for thier Olympics some years back and were enginering it to be exactly that...for their fireworks display. At least they were honest about it...other countries have for years now accused us of messing up thier weather and causing disasters for them. But there are four countries that I know of right now that have that capabilty..if not more. . I would say that much of the weather patterns have been changed by bad land useage also.  I think some of our problems are developed from bad construction and places people build also. Clear cutting the trees down will almost certainly add to flash flooding later on...and has...particularly over on the Oregon coast. All last year I was doing some lightwork on this..asking for " normal weather, for season, for local. But have not been doing it this year..like I was. " Between this year and last year...I feel like someone or something is in my way....as I recently said "Judy" recently said an prayer of intent to help us "lightworkers" in our work over the "will of others that are not in good judgement in such matters...or are self serving.  "Weather can and does make and break all our economies and henders mankind's livabilty. You talk about what is cyclic weather patterns...for the USA...they are printed yearly in the Farmer's Alamanc..based on previous so called "cycles" of weather in the past..it says this year to expect the un-expected...and that New England would see an lot of snow. Prepare for it ahead of time. I have lately read several articles also that say the northern part of our planet is now tilted southward. I beleive there is an consciouness rendering going on and has been for some time to try to balance out the weight on the earth so we don't have an future pole flip. One of the reasons for the numerous big quakes down in the south Pacific and perhaps the northwardly creep of the hurriances recently into New York...which hasn't really seen that many until lately. Reguardless if anyone is tinkering with things or not...we still need to be prepared for where ever we live for such things...to be on the safe side. That is something that we CAN do and should do. Did you know some over 80 per cent of the world's population lives either on the coast or on river sources of some type. Our state has an law...that says the first 1,000 feet of any water source is public domain..not to be built upon. Our beaches are public domain also....not for private building upon....it has not at times stopped our problems..but many times they would of been an lot worse.... if that law wasn't in effect. Fella that owns or use to own Hollywood video...rents out movies...bought an huge huge house down on the Clackamas River one year and decided to change the course of the river to accomodate his desire for an boat dock...the state took him to court and told him to move it all back the way he found it, as it would change the flood lines into something of disaster for downtown Portland. It cost him an fortune,  in the millions and I think he sold this house and moved back to California. But we whom live here know that every so many years we have to much rain that has to be dealt with effectively using what we know and have done to change the flooding patterns. If you want to see some eye rendering awaking information see the map of the Missiissiippi River during the 80's I think it was when it flooded....the entire midwest was seen in pictures with perhaps four times the size of the river in land spread by satelitte pictures from outter space.  National Geographic Magazine did this article on it back then...but it's probably in thier archves on-line.
