Personally, I think the Royals do a good job, bearing in mind they are continually exposed to public scrutiny. The Queen and Prince Philip seem to be frugal people even though they are surrounded by great luxury. Prince Charles does a lot of good work through the Prince's Charities and I think many people do not give him sufficient credit for this.

Also, I believe Prince Charles pays taxes, even though he is not legally obliged to do so.

Don't get me wrong Edward I think they are a real credit to the nation but it has to be said there are a lot of hangers on. The crux of the family, the Queen, Philip, Charles and Anne, and I think it is only right include the 2 boys as well, do very good work and I think we would be a bit worse for wear without them. Andrew still does his fair share and we don't hear much of Edward anymore.....

I reckon they are the most respected Royal Family in the world

Hum, when they released the records of the wealthiest people in the world... the Queen was not high up on the list..at least not like people like "Bill Gates" at any rate. I think she ranked something like 17th....But I do agree the ones making the "Billions" in the world these days could stand to help an bit more. They haven't been... and things are so darn "tight" these days for most people and many feel that way also. Gates has taken on chairtable projects..but they are out of country...while wants the average "joe" here to support himand his business...that that we hate him...just we cant' figure our way out of the slump without some kind of help any more...as we have cut back and cut back..given.. until we can hardly see an future ahead most the time. I don't know what the answer is in ways...because if you take everything away from them..there goes the "quality" of lifein general for all...if we don't have enough...there goes our abilty to support and help other also...if the low income doesn't have help..they most often get to die. Perhaps the best advice is work at what you can... and live sensibily. Help if you can, and if you can't that's OK also...as I truly think we will at at times reach different levels in our lives of more, comfortable, and less.

I'm having someone not really help me today again...I try to go and research my work to write it down and it's like the information I am allowed is "controlled"...I go to some places that I know I could get the information...and pullup an 404 error on it, or an "blank" page of some kind. Irritating to say the least.

For some reason Shirley it does look as if you and/or your PC are being 'got at' because nobody else appears to be having such problems.

That said I do have a problem with my laptop that I can't explain. For some reason I can be typing away, but just happen to glance up at the screen to see that the cursor has moved to an entirely different line of text, so naturally what I am writing makes no sense.

I haven't touched any other keys, it just has a mind of its own, but it has never happened on any other laptop. I have got used to checking each time now so it's not a problem but it is annoying. Maybe you are experiencing a similar problem?

Ah, but there hasn't been a vote, and I don't think one is likely to happen or is being planned to my knowledge. So your question cannot in reality be answered, like many questions it's just hyperthetical, you could apply that arguement to many things in life.  I never use public transport but I suspect I pay more than I think towards it for the benefit of others - and I don't mind , I just do it Smile

Rustyruth,my question was "if there was a vote"

and if ther was a vote would you stump up for one of the wealthiest families in the land to live in the manner they are accustomed to.

Just a simple yes or no will do.
