In the Rotterdam trial, people with the highest levels of vitamin K2 were eating Gouda or Edam cheese. I take one Vitacost Ultra Vitamin K with Advanced K2 complex softgel a day (vitacost.com) or one Life Extension Super K with advanced K2 complex a day (iherb.com). There is a synergistic effect between vitamin K2 and vitamin D. You can ask your doctor request a vitamin D assay to determine the level of vitamin D in your blood. Some people don't get enough sunshine on the skin for their body to make sufficient vitamin D. I take 4000-5000 IU vitamin D3 in capsule form every day. In the Prospect study involving 16,000 elderly people, each additional 10 micrograms of vitamin K2 in the diet resulted in a 9% reduction of cardiac events. In another study, arteries with atherosclerotic plaques were found to have a 20-50 fold lower vitamin K2 concentration than arteries without plaque in the same human body. Over to you.
