POE RULES GOOGLE!!!!!

 I have seen a picture that i posted a while back too.--its easy Peggy just google and click on IMAGES you should get them

   I type in Ambleside and I look at pics by Dave, I type in Fetcham and I type in Great Bookham and I am NOT famous- it's all right for some. That Geograph site seems to get quite a few hits though.

Yeah Vince I've always seen Geograph and Flickr taking pride of place which is why this took me by surprise. Not that I am complaining, for myself or POE, but it has never happened before. A similar result happened with    Bowness pierhead. Very odd!!!

I cant get any POE on Google images for Lowestoft either Peggy

I wouldn't go quite that far John ........ And yes Ron i noticed Alans photos when i tried googling Bowness. Really is very strange. I've not noticed anything like it before today which is why I created the thread, just seems very odd

I just found out that images with descriptions and text, are more likely to be shown in the Google results, rather than just an image itself, and most of Dave's photos always have a good description of what the photos are all about

Nothing specific John just showing someone at work how to find images using Google and basically 'Ambleside pierhead' just came to mind and threw up this amazing resuilt. Tried a few others and not had anything anywhere near that result. Mike has a good point regarding the captioning which might have some bearing on it. But either way it is good for POE if anyone is searching for Ambleside...
