That thing in the roof has been bugging me since Vince first posted the picture, I kept looking at it but a name would not come to me, then I had a flash of inspiration when I was in Tesco !!!

Yes it was a nice easy one Vince, thank you Laughing

This is us assuming that Wyvern is the answer of course Smile

Phew It's Gone !!!  Very well done Ruth. I had the close up on the counter last week along with the crest over the door way to the pub as my pics of the week in the shop and hardly anyone knew where they were let alone knew it was a wyvern. The only one to identify it was the estate agent in the building below ( I must admit I did not know what it was until he told me). In days past when the property was connected the place next door at right angles it was the known as "Wyvern House". The Wyvern is placed on the roof to ward off evil spirits- funny as the building is opposite the church.

Now as to being stood up- I will have you know I have left the beverages at the back with a nice lumpy scum on the top and if you turn up tomorrow you will have to ask the boss for them as I do not go in on a wednesday and you will have to go in the morning as Wednesday is a half day and shop shuts at one o'clock.
