Well I've had slide fitting with a three, but I know it's not the answer because it doesn't fit with the clues.

The noose is packed the car is pointing towards the M62 East Smile

I think I've got it RYDAL.

Rydal Water, Rydal Mount, Rydal Park.

Dora Wordsworth, daughter of William, Dove cottage, Dora is buried in Grasmere. Dora's Field is by St. Mary's Church in Rydale.

Please let this be right, it's been driving me nuts Smile

It wasn't the Dove that did it Dave, the new National Trust Handbook arrived today, I've just opened it for a look when I saw Wordsworth House and Gardens a thought hit me. When you mentioned that this word had been used a lot on POE recently I was thinking all the threads about selling pictures, image quality etc. Then I realised it was your thread I should be looking at.

If I'm correct you are very sneaky, 'twas a good one though Smile

That’s it, well done Ruth, took a bit of time but you got there in the end… Rydal Water the small pretty lake near Grasmere, Rydal Mount one time family home to William Wordsworth, Rydal Park the grounds around Rydal Hall. Dora refers to Wordsworths daughter after whom ‘Dora’s Field’ is named. This small field next to Rydal Church was bought by Wordsworth for his daughter and at the appropriate time of year is a mass of Daffodils and Bluebells. The reference to DOVE being Dove Cottage another home occupied by Wordsworth

Now you know why clues were difficult without giving it away. And yes the POE link was to all the photos I have uploded recently... can do the rest now he heWink
