Yes John, it's San Gimignano. Well done.

It must be an important town. There's a photo of it on the front cover of a 720 page Italy travel guide book I have on my bookshelf.

Well done John Smile

It's not on the front of any of my guide books on Italy, but it is inside. Have a nice holiday Ken Smile

It was built of stone and turf and ran between The Firth of Forth and The Firth of Clyde. Work began on it in AD 142 on the orders of Emperor Antoninius Pius. It was the Northern most point of the Roman Empire.

Hope some of it is right John, it's done from memory Smile

Thanks John. I'll be back tomorrow evening with a quizzy, it's mums 85th Birthday tomorrow and we're taking her out for the day to Haworth.  There will be me,  grandchildren and great grandchildren so it's going to be a long day.

Sorry for the delay, it's been a long day.

I was a cameraman. I was awarded the MBE for my services as a war correspondent in WWII. My grandson is also famous.

Who am I ?

What is the name of the British author who wrote fiction novels about a  character who drank so much alcohol he would have been at a high risk of liver damage and an early death if he been a real person? Many movies were based on this character.
